I probably over did the PP on them. Trying to get the colors to pop. I will go back and work on them some more.

That's what I was thinking too. It looks more like some quick selection of flower or background or whatever that didn't quite get the edges right.
A whole bed of flowers is one thing but to really show off an individual flower (or two or three) there's nothing wrong with using some kind of neutral bkg. My favorite look at the moment is to use white, which makes the "cutting out" process easier if that's what needs to be done.
I don't know the name of this variety but it is similar to one of the ones you have. Beautiful flowers! Sorry about the watermark sig. but this is one of a series for an up coming exhibit and I wanted them all to have the same bkg.

Ours are a soggy mess. The tulip festival was supposed to begin this weekend but the muck endures, so I decided to hang near home. Tulips are my favorite flowers and the local Pro shop sponsors a pretty nice (great prizes!) contest each year. Entries have to be taken during the festival. I've never done a contest before but was thinking about it. The winners are always really very nice images.

Wow..those are really nicely shot. It's very hard to shoot reds and not have them oversaturate and lose detail.
You'll have to post a new thread and explain how you get them looking like that....if you wouldn't mind.

HA! Yes, it was a lot easyer to just send the roll out and have it come back all done. Now I have to try and make it look like I saw it. But I am getting there. Me-Computers, who would have thought!
