What are you using to post process the images? If you are using LR or PS, I would add NIK plug-in software to them ($149 US). The software has a program called Viveza 2 that allows you to add localized sharpening and it allows you to unsharpen (structure option) edges. In PS, you can use an adjustment brush to soften or sharpen areas and edges. These issues appear more often in high contrast images and especially in black and white conversions.
