A mouse is responsible for triggering a stampede in a mosque in the Moroccan city of Casablanca which left more than 80 people injured, officials say.

The rush happened in the city's Hassan II mosque, which was full of worshippers on Monday evening.

It was the holiest night of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the Moroccan news agency reported.

It quoted officials as saying that the injured were mostly women who suffered light injuries and fractures.

Worshippers were reported to have fainted after a mouse crossed over a woman's foot while she was praying, causing her to rush outside and creating panic among worshippers, Morocco World News reported.

The Hassan II mosque is believed to be the largest in Africa and the seventh largest in the world.

Its minaret is 210 m (689 ft) high.

And doggies, too. Muslims consider dogs "unclean" and "evil." Which is why they insult infidels as "Christian dogs" or "Jewish dogs," or generically as "infidel dogs."

Perhaps you could walk your dog or cat past a mosque and watch while they panic and stampede. Of course, PETA might be mad at you, for traumatizing your pet.

Not sure if the Muslims consider rodents to be evil and "unclean." There are certainly plenty of rodents in most Muslims towns and cities. Of course, there are cultural standards which differ from those among non-Muslims; people who use their left hands in lieu of toilet paper have different notions of "clean" and "unclean" than do the infidels who prefer toilet paper.

Muslims and sniffer dogs[edit]
Despite a reporting suggesting that sniffer dogs trained to detect explosives should no longer come into contact with Muslim passengers, the British T***sport Police insisted it would still use them with any passengers, though handlers would remain aware of “cultural sensitivities”.[40]

A proposal was made from the Association of Chief Police Officers of Britain that sniffer dogs used in searching mosques and Muslim homes should be fitted with leather bootees to cover their paws and thereby avoid causing offence.[41] Muslim convicts in British prisons are entitled to fresh clothes and linen if they feel these may have been in contact with canine saliva, while copies of the Quran and other religious items are to be checked by hand.[42]

Muslim efforts to criminalize or ban dogs in European cities[edit]
In 2015 in The Hague in the Netherlands, Hasan Küçük, a representative on The Hague city council for the Islam Democrats, called for the possession of dogs in The Hague to be criminalized.[43]

In Lérida, Spain, two Islamic groups asked local officials to ban dogs from all areas frequented by Muslim immigrants, saying their presence violated the Muslims' religious freedom.[43]
