I have Nikon D7100 and Nikon mount lenses.
Looking for 2nd hand camera idea's ... I'd rather not use my D7100 on the 20' pole.
Any options in the $250 to $300 area ?

I'm looking at D3100 at 14 megapixels or D3200 at 24 megapixels.
Probably can get one of those at less than $300.

The megapixel question will depend entirely upon the end use of your pictures. And don't forget a remote release!

How will you adjust and shoot the camera? I suggest you look into either using a ladder if possible or using a wifi device to operate and adjust the camera. I have not found any device yet that will adjust the zoom on the camera wireless.

Camera use would be house exteriors.
Sirui tilt head used to attach camera.
Vello freewave to activate shutter.
Check into using a Gopro. When we sold our house, the photographer that came and did the photos for us used a Gopro on a huge paint pole he had purchased from a paint store. He synced the camera with his Iphone and then controlled the shots from the camera while the Gopro was about 20 ft in the air. At 20 ft, the gopro's wide angle lens gives pretty good aerial shots. May I ask where did you find a 20ft pole?
gopro will give you a pretty good pic,my friend
has a 30 ' pole, his big problem was keeping it from swaying
I put a D800 on a pole and use CamRanger to focus it, take the shot, change settings, etc, just like I had the camera in my hand. The CamRanger is available for Canon, Nikon and some others. There is also a gizmo that rotates the camera if it was on a permanent mount, such as a ledge.

I'm considering the 21' wonder pole. It has the camera adapters and is closes to approx 6'.
They claim it is stronger than aluminum painter poles.
http://allflagscom.mybigcommerce.com/camera-ready-pole-621pro/I can get a painters pole of 18' at Home Depot for around $40, but would have to buy or make an adapter for the camera.
I read of some photographer having his camera on an aluminum pole in brisk winds and it bent in half.
I'll have to look into the Cam Ranger.
Thanks all for the reply's.
Go Pro, the only way to go. Just check out the weight. There is no way are going to hold a D7100 on the end of a 20' pole steady for any lenght of time., Go Pro is proberly half the weight. Just My Two Cents worth.
Look around at KEH or Ebay for an older model that does about what you want.
*If found on Ebay, my suggestion would be from one in your country. (Makes for better mailing reasons.)
