The FZ200 has the 24x zoom at max resolution, but the 24x can be doubled to 48x with drop of 2 megapixels. The stereo zoom mic on top works great. I used it in a church to record a concert from the balcony. You could definitely tell the difference in audio when I zoomed in on a particular performer. And if needed, an external shotgun mic can be fastened to the hot-shoe mount on top and connected to the jack on the left side of the body. Like I said before, "So many options"!

Another nice feature. Close up photos. At wide angle (24 mm), you can get as close 1 cm! I stuck the lens shade down into an open flower to see what would happen. The photo came out great!
While shooting video, you can take a still shot while the video is recording.
One of the features on the 'Scene' dial is for shooting through glass, so that the camera doesn't focus on the glass itself. Also has a 3D Mode for 3 dimensional photos and a Panoramic mode. Done right, you can take a 360 degree panorama photo.
The manual that comes with the camera is minimal in information, so download the full manual from Panasonic's web-site.

I have owned every other Sony big zoom since day one and swear by them, you can't go wrong. I'm currently waiting for the HX500, does anyone have any info as to when/if this is going to happen?
