if you can leave religion out of the discussion for a few minutes, all manner of doors open up. the bible now becomes just a book that may not be totally accurate. the bible is full of gaps, as it is, that allows for all kinds of speculations.
science lends itself to speculations some of which prove true and some of which will be discarded. If there is a God, well that leaves us with an open door for a future discussion.

But Bull, that is what you want. Leave religion out of it. Deny God. Let the bible become just another meaningless book. It does not work that way. Our planet could not have just happen on it's on out of nothing. The complexity of life on this planet and the food and the water and the air that helps to sustain that life and man's ability to reason and to communicate with each other as well as the ability to invent tools from the simple to the complex screams Intelligent Design. For a lack of a better name, we call Him God. Who says of Himself, I am that I am. And He continues to watch over His creation.

The bible IS just a book written by old farts telling ridiculous stories to people that couldn't even read. An invisible guy living in the sky, a man created from dirt and a woman from the mans rib, the earth created in 6 days 3 of which had no sun or moon so how could they be days and the best of all god gets angry and floods the whole world except for one family on a boat with a pair of every animal on earth. but bangee 5, I don't deny God, just religion. all of them. boy do I believe in God. I wouldn't had made it for 76 years without Him. my belief in Him gives Him power in my life. I believe that He is watching us in a hands off position saying " all the gifts and smarts I gave them, and they keep screwing it up".

If you are not with us then you are against us. Regardless of what you call it, religion is what you believe and in whom you believe and of whom you worship.

I do not worship God, and see nowhere where he has asked me to obey Him.

not with you or against you, just along side of you. as long as you all don't bug or piss me off, we are ok.

oh, one more $0.02, at one time or another I was a catholic, a Baptist and a friend, but I got over it.
