photo of my first born, tell me what you think.
Beautiful!
And the photo ain't bad either. Lighting just a tad harsh. I little more fill light would further soften shadows.
Very pretty subject but nice job overall. Soften the harsh main light or possibly shoot thru some material or paper to make it softer and blend. I like the slight shadowing and nice blowout on the background. What settings did you use on each lights and were they softboxes or umbrellas? Overall nice job. Makeup can be very important depending on the closeness of the shot, just be aware of it.

I use a Nikon sb800 flash, into a 36 inch silver reflector on one side. ISO was 400 with a nikon D700 24-70 lens. I see your point on the shadows. next time I will shoot through some soft type light filter.
lovely girl & lovely photo. love the angle, just wish her head wasn't cropped so much. :)

Very pretty girl. Try a white reflector ( is it a flat one ? ) either as a reflector or fire the flash through it. Have you tried an umbrella ? They give a soft wrap around type of light.

The photo shows a beautiful woman. As the father of three daughters, I claim a measure of expertise in making such statements.
May she live long and prosper.
All the best,
Martin
I'm going to buck the trend here and say VERY VERY nicely done.
Very nice shot, and very creative pose/crop.
I don't "love" the nose shadow but it's a lot better than much of what is posted daily so I'm going with GREAT! as my final answer.
i like everything about this photo, crop and all!!!
great job!!! very beautiful girl!!
I think your getting old [like me] and your daghter is very pretty. Good shot that could be great by adjusting the lighting.

Beautiful photo - love the way her hair comes down, nice style. Cropped the way it is, is how a lot of high end portraits are done. You did very good.
Well I like the lighting. Not all portraits HAVE to have the same lighting that everyone else uses. I also like the crop. Again, not every portrait has to be, or should be, full face. It's a great photograph.
BTW having a lovely first born helps a lot, do you loan her out to aspiring amateurs? lol
