Start somewhere ! Went back to school 3 years ago to learn how to use computers before then every thing was still old school. Taking only one class at a time. It wasn 't about a Degree , it was about the Knowledge !
When i arrived at school never even heard of a thumb drive ! Teach had to manually show me how to turn on the Mac !
Two years later teachers were buying my art... O.K. 2 pieces.
Left school and Joined " Art Guild of Orange Park, Fl " Best thing I ever did ! Competing in shows with Artist of all styles. Oil Paintings , Pen & Ink, and 3D Sculiptures. Makes you step up your Game a Lot ! Note ! some at the art guild " Look another Photogragher " just added this because most Artist think Wow ! he just took a phoTo any one can do that with a cell phone !
o.k. , o.k. ! now I come to you ALL ! Starting at the bottom again...
and ! so ! my heros are Jerry Uelsmann and Salvador Dali (Salvador Dali has some aweSome PhoTos)
" Just for Fun " at the moment let us forget about the other 22 layers the clean up of the dog took me 5 hours. Put the dog in because people were taking this phoTo serious... Like trees really float through the air.
Before I added the dog ( K-9 , World Famous Frisby Dog ) peolpe were asking me where I took the phoTo ? " St. Augstine, Fl durring a hurricane " people " Wow ! You were out there in that Storm ! "
Other people ask me " how i got the phoTo of the tree in the air " me " Picked a tree next to the ocean... pulled out of the ground using a big craine ! Presure washed the root clean... It was easy to get rid of the wire holding it ! The Hard Part was Filling the Hole that was Left ! people " WoW ! "
True... Stories !
and ! so ! as Pat Bentar song says " Hit Me with Your Best Shot "

Having owned many exuberant and energetic dogs, I love the idea of the dog flying free with the seagulls. Terrific, fanciful mood.

Unfortunately, the reason for the trees escapes me - lol. I readily admit I usually need much assistance with explanation of images like this, as regards meaning and symbolism.

Welcome and thank you for sharing! S-

If I may ask, what inspires you and what makes you think to add a little of this and a little of that?
- Work like yours is foreign to my brain and I'd love to peek through yours a little.

And Oh my it IS fun! Thank you for sharing a kind of photography-related art that most of us know nothing about. I like this one a lot, both with and without the dog. Whimsical, crazy but serious underneath (hurricanes are deadly serious to those of us who live along the gulf coast.). it is possible to be whimsical and serious at the same time. Walter Anderson comes to mind here. http://www.walterandersonmuseum.org/index.php/search-our-collections - one of our most intriguing Mississippi artists, who tied himself to the trees during hurricanes to learn what they felt like so he'd be able to paint them.

Does this type of art have a name? Do you get inspiration from someone who does something similar or did you just jump out there and start doing this stuff? I'm intrigued.

And I like Pat Benatar too, went to one of her concerts in the spring.

Welcome Michael. The Dali influence shines through like a beacon. Reasons not always needed for items to be included is fine by me. If its for fun or just because the artist thought it would look good is reason enough. If it gets a response of any sort its worked. No response is a failure. You my man have a resounding success with a great quirky image. .

It takes 2 trees to make this happen. First tree taken in early summer... as little background as possible... even the clouds are a distraction ! I clean using eraser on soft 5 pt our less >>> View Photo at actual pixels plus 300% ! Reason... you want to see the new sky you are going to add as the new background to show through ! If you don 't do this >>> Holes in your branches won 't match your new background ! Left a step out >>> before cleaning duplicate layer >>> turn original off>>> work only on the duplicate layer.
This should bring you Picture 2#
Second tree Shot in winter>>> no folage ! Do everything as above>>> make sure to save often this all takes time>>> make sure what ever program you use to save all LAYERS ( i have been successful using 5 programs thus far )
Now ! increase canvas size to @ times bigger >>> Vertical flip the Winter Tree >>> it becomes the roots
Move both trees together>>> One Top >>> One Roots >>> when you have them sized so they fit >>> Merge these 2 layers >>> Use Bandaid to blend lines>>> Save ! If you want more trees >>> Duplicate layer >>> if want different sizes >>> use transform scale ( other programs Distort )
After Merging the 2 trees together you can pull or add your new background
Remember you still have control of your floating tree ( Layer ) to color correct.
Maybe it is easyer to rent a crain ?
