I am new to LR...and love it. Now I'd like to hook up (easily) with a photo web site to do the following....
Mostly...share trip photos with others on a trip....emailing them the link using Gmail
Email selected photos using Gmail (wish LR did this)
Not....as backup for my 60,000 pictures
work easily within LR

What other functions do you find such sites useful for??
Does any site work seamlessly with Blurb which I use for books

What about Flickr...Googlephoto....other better sites?

Thanks for any advice...just getting started with this.

The Web module within LR lets you create your own web gallery to post to whatever site you choose. If you use SmugMug, there is even a free plug-in to facilitate the process.

If all you are sending is a LINK then send it in whatever email program you like....

I use Apple Mail with my GMAIL account and often send links or even images directly from Apple Mail where I have access to all my contacts.

FWIW - Flickr is a good sharing service - Lightroom will upload your images to Flickr, you can manage who can see the images easily and you get I believe 1 TB of free storage space with a free account.

I don't know what brand of camera you are using, but I use Nikon Image Space. If you own a Nikon Camera, you get 20 GB of space for free and I can creat a folder of the images I want to show and then it allows me to send a "share" link to anyone via email. They can then click on the link and it shows them ONLY the images I have put in that folder. It also allows me to tell it whether to allow them to download the images or not. This is very handy for giving clients an initial viewing of processed or unprocessed shots. Nikon Image Space also supports RAW/NEF files so they don't have to be converted to .jpg or whatever for viewing. The downside is that anything from Lightroom in RAW has to be exported to .jpg or tif first, but the price is right (free). Note: I have 3 Nikon Image Space accounts and the wife also has 3. Image Space requires you to attach your Nikon Camera to the computer one time during setup so that it can verify that you own a Nikon in order to upgrade you to the 20gb account.

I have pictures on several sites, including Flickr and Google Photos. My current favorite is Google Photos. I don't know how it coordinates with LR, though.

Messy? I find it is pretty clean and efficient.

My system for mail is Apple Mail (app) that resides on my Mac, it connects via IMAP to GMAIL. I NEVER use web mail - always use an IMAP client that resides on the computer.

In Lightroom I merely select an image or 2 to send then select email. On the dialog that pops up I simply click OK, then I am dumped into Apple Mail with the images within the body of the message as JPG files, I can then address it to who I like using my contact list and send just like a normal mail.

Just not seeing anything essay about that, at least not on a Mac.

It may depend on how you email - if you use a web client to access email that may be the messy part.

Gotta ask - If Nikon Image Space supports NEF - why do you need to convert from raw in Lightroom to JPG for Nikon Image Space?
