Sand for patio brick spacing

I'm looking for a super fine grain sand to fill in very small cracks between patio bricks. My patio is composed of standard solid bricks that were installed butted against each other. However, there are various sized spaces between them due to nominal brick sizing and slight movement over time.

Lowes used to carry such a sand, in at least three colors -red, gray, & white. Well, guess what? They quit carrying it several years ago and I can not find it anywhere. It was my mistake not to save the bag for reference. No one I have asked locally has a clue as to the product name. And it is not "all purpose sand".

Any help in identifying the product I am looking for will be greatly appreciated.

How about sand used to put in a child's sandbox. I seem to remember that sand is extremely fine.

Thanks. I will consider that, but would prefer red sand. Don'think play sand comes in any color but white. However, if it does please let me know.

I have not been a child for a very long time - although I have been accused many times of being "child-like" especially during arguments....  So haven't had the need to look for sandbox sand, and I didn't realize that you wanted red sand. If I happen to find some superfine red sand I will let you know.

I was just thinking, the other thing you could do would be to contact a brick/masonry company in your area and see if they have any red mortar sand you could purchase, or if they could get you any. Good luck with your quest.

I've used beach sand, white only but it looks good on any coloured bricks.
There is also a white sand we use in white mortar for brick work.
Check building supplies businesses.

Hi
You want kiln dried silica sand.
Any local company that lays brick pavers for drives etc.
will have it. It comes in small plastic bags.
I used to do this type of work in the far distant past before I retired.
Kind regards
George

Permasand by Sakrete. I used this when I built my patio ten years ago and it still looks great. Good lick!

Bill, you may be able to pick up 'filter sand' from any swim-pool location. It's extremely fine.

George is right and you can pick it up from DIY and Garden Centres. It needs to be kiln dried so that it flows freely between the blocks.
