Hi Lourdes, I travelled to Alaska a couple times with my 24-105 and 100-400. It offered me enough at both ends to get good shots of glaciers, Alaskan scenery, bald eagles and Humpback whales. Have fun, it's a great place for photographers.

I have taken an Alaskan cruise; and yes, I would take all three lenses----you may never repeat the experience. Have a great time.

That's very good, so are you offering to lend them to him?

I cruised Alaska two years ago, and I agree that you should take your longest zoom. You probably don't really need the 35 and you might get more use out of an ordinary kit lens rather than the 11-16 (I have that excellent lens myself), if you have it, for general walking around at the ports and on board. Be sure to take an extra memory card, or two. One guy on our whale adventure burned through his cards and was reduced to using his cell phone! Have a great adventure.

I think your most "optional" lens is the smallest, the 35,, 1.8. I think you will find interior shots on the ship that will BEG for the 1.8 aperture. And for a shore trip, it's pretty stealthy, too. So, leaving it home provides little in weight reduction. Also, wide shots from the ship sould be shot at high shutter speed because of the constant engine caused vibrations. And bracing on a bulkhad or rail will amplify the vibration.

Have a great trip.

I would take all three. Number one would be the 35mm followed by the 55-300.

I agree with those that say take all three. The 11-16 2.8 is fast enough and wide enough for taking shots inside the ship. Definately take the longest lens you have because there is always something to see that is too far away for the 35MM. I was on an Alaska cruise 2 years ago and wish I had the 11-16.

You need all three. A lighter weight alternative would be a Nikon or Sigma 18-300. I have both a Sigma 18-300 and Nikon 55-300 VR and unless you do a lot of cropping or print very large there isn't a noticeable difference between them even at 300mm.

Between 16 and 55mm is a significant focal length gap. I would take the 35mm to cover it.
