It was the first time I drove to Alaska, very fond memories. Went up the next year on my Honda Goldwing, one and only motorcycle trip up there!

Very possible. Its somewhere along the AlCan Highway, but I had no note on that slide as to exactly where.

Could very well be, I fished out of both of them quite a bit while I was there. Long time ago though. Only note on this slide was "Returning on the FV Shaman", the boat we were on was named Shaman

hope you don't mind, but heres a pic of Seward almost at the same vantage as yours. This was last summer, now i wish i would of not zoomed in trying to find our RV lol.

Why the crooked pipe line? Seems like it would be less pipe and other supplies to build.

the pipe line was built like that to allow the expansion of the pipes from the heat of the oil going through them. They also have heat sinks built on the pillers to disapate the heat so the perma-frost dont melt

I would think it is for keeping the veloicty down on the down hill side.
