Flashing LCD Screen

I have a Conon EOS70D, and periodically I will see part of the photo on my LCD screen flash. Usually it's from white to black. ie; The white clouds will flash back and forth from white to black over and over.
Any Canon users out there know why?

It's telling you that portion of the image is blown out, overexposed.

You might want to read your user's manual and learn a bit more about what your camera's settings and signals are.

Not a Canon user, but with Nikon they are called blinkies and indicate that that part of the photograph is blown out.

It is the highlight alert and you can turn it off in the menu. in my canon 1d mk4 and 1ds mk 3 it is under the 4th icon in the menu. It is blue, with an arrow, and 2 dots.

See page 294 of the (English) instruction manual.
By default it is on.

Those blinking sections of the photo mean there is serious over exposure in that section of the photo. My suggestion would be to close your aperture (higher number) until the flahing stops. Then adjust the shutter speed to get the best exposure. Of course read your manual, and look in a photo book about "exposure". I suggest Bryan Petersons book "Understanding Exposure".

And blown out means paper white. There is no recoverable detail in the overexposed areas.
