I don't understand what went wrong in my workflow. Any ideas?
Maybe your exposure time was not long enough?
Have you processed the image?
If you have not, it needs more brightness and contrast.
If you have then not sure.
I use a shutter speed of 1:200 with ISO 1000 wish.
Even with an EFL of 1200mm, Saturn is pretty dim.
Other option is to take many photos like you have, and stack them. I have yet to try this so am no authority on that process.
I usually cheat and attach the camera to an 8" telescope.
As below....
Good luck.

Mark, yes I run it thru AS2 then reg6 and it saved as this. I shoot Planetary with an 8 in. newtonian on a goto lxd55 mount.I don't understand what happened my other Saturn videos look good and processing workflow went fine.I managed more detail out of the colored videos than this mono. That just isn't right, I'm supposed to collect more detail data with mono apposed to color. Yes , I've tried stacking my images with good results but, I don't know where the Ghost came from.I like the color you got with that image , how?
Sounds tho we are using much the same technique.
I have bad no significant success with stacking yet, despite using a webcam.
My best results are with the Olympus EPL 5, with the 8" Newtonian scope. Olympus has a 2x digital converter.
I have processed in Gimp to sharpen and lighten bit, and of course a heavy crop.
Its a bit of an obsession I'm afraid, and Saturn is slowly getting lower for this year.

Mark Saturn is low but, I was out and tried to capture . I just wasn't able to get a good focus on it. I'm still going to try and collect some data this time around until it's in the trees.Webcam astrophotography is very rewarding and I just love the fact that I can view Planets on my laptop. My avatar is my latest adventure in processing thru Gimp.
