I'm having a problem restoring a WWII era picture. Pictures was glued to a flag causing a rippling, then was displayed in the window where it received sunlight for many years. When I scan the picture, there are many dots. I've tried using the camera to get a different perspective without the dots..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

While the dots are annoying this is in remarkable condition.

Up close few faces are recognizable. I do not know of any way to restore this w/o losing more data than it already has.

Some creases can be removed with no damage to the overall. I know that some experts will be able to save this and make it look like new but at a great expense.

Thanks for input, I'll just keep working on it..going to have to copy one of the faces for the woman on the far right as half her face is missing from a water mark.

Have you tried a cloning brush on the spots in your photo program ? I have done this on old photo's and it does a great job of cleaning up the photo.

I did a restoration of this, is it okay to post it here on your thread? I kept it at 300dpi.

I was told that it is not okay to re-post unless it it specifically stated, thanks.

Hello,

In the town that I live in, Memorial Day weekend 1946. Long time residents who returned from the war. People who have the original know many of the people in the pic..one of the woman is her sister.
This is a town where mining of zinc was done back when, Babe Ruth used to hang in the area, Thomas Edison had a short term iron ore mining project that in 1919 he spent over $1Mil of his own money to develop before it folded.
Check out Franklin Borough--has an exhibit in the Smithsonian since it was the best quality of zinc in the world.

Thanks,
Arnie
