This is a technique that I have been playing around with. I find it appealing because it gives the appearance of a painting, but only in specialized situations. Still learning.

Before I read the title, I thought the image was a reflection of trees in water. Very nicely done.

Thanks. I've learned that this technique requires a lot of experimentation in terms of subject matter, shutter speed, and pace of panning. Here's another, similar shot involving a shorter exposure.
