We have a July with 2 full moons this month. The first tonight and the second on the 31st.
I was thinking a shot from today and then in the same thread a shot from the 31st.
Might make for an interesting subject.

Two full Moon's in the same month is a
Blue Moon.I think a Blue filter would be in order for # 2...
Sounds like fun! ;)
I was thinking something similar.
Everyone's take on a "blue moon"
GT
Since there are multiple definitions of "blue moon"
Blue Moon as third full moon of four in a season. The Maine Farmers Almanac defined a Blue Moon as an extra full moon that occurred in a season. One season winter, spring, fall, summer typically has three full moons. If a season has four full moons, then the third full moon may be called a Blue Moon.
There was a Blue Moon by this definition happened on November 21, 2010. Another occurred on August 20-21, 2013. And the next one will occur on May 21, 2016.

If you do a early evening shot you won't need a filter.
I hate shooting full moons, no contrast.

That is the definition I had known, 2nd full moon in a given month.
The skies cleared somewhat last night, and I was able to get out to catch the planetary thing (more later). There was a high layer of clouds which didn't make things any easier, but not too bad. Anyway, turned around to start packing up, and *there* was the moon. Didn't realize it was actually full, although obviously pretty close. I don't have my SX50 back yet, but I did have the 300mm on my T4i, so I took a few. Well, you do, don't you?
I uploaded everything last night, but have to dash this morning, so I haven't had a chance to process anything. I will attempt to get to everything later on...

I checked several times last night, but all I could have got was cloud cover. :-(
This weather is the pits.
