That was the first time I saw him, but he has been coming back regularly since. I read that they have learned that artificial light attracts moths, so they will sit around near a porch light waiting for prey to show up. Now every night he is on the porch, or clinging to the door or the screen, and once he was sitting on the arm of my porch chair. About a week ago I tried to see if he would take an insect from my hand. Amazingly, he did without hesitating. Since then I have fed him every time I see him. When I go out there he hops over to me looking for a handout. The tree frog has successfully trained a human!
They sleep all day in trees, and I was able to get a photo of him in a cedar tree. Here he is on the porch looking for a handout, and in the tree.

what fun for you and your froggie buddy:) he's a pretty sharp frog to have trained you so good. last summer there was a little green tree frog hanging out in my elephant ears. he would lay on the big stalks and take a sun bath. it was so much fun shooting him. sometimes he would take a nap on a bright red canna flower. i never thought about feeding him. this year i have seen no tree frogs around. if you want a peek at him he's in 2 of my topics titled "oh give me a home where the critters all roam" and "froggoodness sakes...i got so excited i thought i'd croak." have a nice day! :D
