I'm enter a photo in a photo club contest. The topic is "glass"
Which of the three do you like the best?

Sneaky lighting on that first one
The bowler hat seems slightly inappropriate. If you had the lighting in #1 with the wooden table, that would be the best of both worlds.

Hummm... Good idea. I could replace the bowler with a cut glass vase (or something else) to catch the sneaky lighting. The sneaky lighting was done by placing a slave flash on the back of the wine bottle. I actually used four flashes.
Thank you for the feed back. I'll try again.

I took your advice and re-shot it.
Much better. This evokes a warm feeling that draws me in.
Here's my CC: Need to have bottle of Scotch NOT red wine in photos titled scotch. Did see the scotch in glass but there is no connection with the bottle of wine. I agree with others about bowler hat - what's the connection?
Images #2 & #3 look like you have dirt on lens as there are white spots on hat and table. Good attempt - now try a re-shoot. If entering in local club contest the judges will pick up on these CC items. I know, been there, done that and still trying to improve.
The rules of the club contest are that no post processing of the image is allowed we must submit the JPG produced by the camera along with the RAW file.
I think I played around with the shadows a bit to much in the above image. I like the way attached image that was produced by the camera's processor looks better. The wood table is in deep shadow but that is more pleasing to me.
This is the image the camera club judges will see. It's my personal favorite.
BTW, three flashes where used to light this image. One light a full power pressed against the back of the bottle. A second flash at 1/8 power was aimed at about 45 degrees, at the left side and a third flash set to 1/16 power also at about 45 degrees, was aimed at the right side. The idea was to provide "Rembrandt" or "Chiaroscuro" lighting.
