The K20 is beautifully made. Easily supports my 5D and Tamron 150-600. Couldn't be more satisfied. Plus, the price is really reasonable. It's mounted on my Sirui 2205 tripod, which folds down to practically nothing and is perfect for traveling. Even came with a durable carrying case. All for less than $500 at B&H.

I'm considering one, the K-30X for a yet-to-be-delivered used Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 tripod (should get it Monday or Tuesday from B&H). It's going to be my first real tripod and have never used a ballhead. It's gotten high praise form DP Review though. Anyone have experience with it? Recommendations for or against?

If speed and ergonomics matter, I like the Manfro 322 grip-action .....no comment on the Sirui. You can adapt manfro QR's to arca swiss if you absolutely must have arca swiss.

I have both the 20 & 30K. I use the 20 on a monopod and the 30 on tripod. All I can say about these heads is: PRECISION...PRECISION...PRECISION! Rock solid! Thanks, Boone.

What do you use the 20 on? I have a crop DSLR and my long lens is a 70-300 (I'd like to get some heavier/better stuff later). Someone else (too lazy to look) said their salesman said the 20 was too big...not too many honest salesmen out there, IMO, but it seems there ARE some.

I have a Manfrotto 055XPROB with a Manfrotto 804RC2 head. At some point I might want to replace the head with an Arca-Swiss compatible head.

Would there by any difficulty in doing so? I mean, is there anything more to it than taking the 804RC2 off of the tripod and then screwing a K-30X or some similar head onto the 055XPROB?

Thanks.

If you plan on getting something heavier later on, then the 20 is perfect.
