Stumpy tailed Willy.Wagtail.

I posted some pics of this same guy a few weeks ago. He was lacking his long fan tail that Willies constantly wag from side to side. I assumed at the time that he was a juvie. Well, he was back yesterday & he still has no fan tail. I now know that he is not a juvie, but his lack of a normal tail is a mystery. They don't molt their tails, so maybe it is a generic problem with this particular bird. Anyway, it is no handicap--he constantly chatters & flits about, as Willies do. Please download for a better look.
Well, isn't he the cutest thing! I don't we have them here.
Super shots, Earl. Brought a big smile to my face :)

Gorgeous little bird, nice detail in the downloads. :-)
Earl, I don't know about Willy, but birds do lose their tails during molt. I'm looking at Punkin's long tail feather that he molted yesterday. These are super shots. Love Willy's cute little face.

Do all breeds molt? I've seen evidence of molting in some breeds, but not in others.
:-)
All the birds I see around here do. I see wrens (which remind me of Willys) getting about after molt for quite a long time without a tail. I'm not a bird expert though, so I'll have to ask Prof Google. lol

Very nice shots of a cute little bird, Earl. His coloration reminds me of "Stray Pussy" -- maybe that was the predator Ron thinks the bird may have encountered!
Super detail on the downloads Earl. Neat shots.

Thanks for looking, folks. Sorry I am so late with my thanks--it was an oversight. :-)
