More important is that ISO, f-stop, and shutter speed info.

Sorry Rehess but I don't go into all of that stuff but occasionally. :(

OK, I just thought your camera would remember that for you in the EXIF that was lost in the posting process. Thank you anyway.

I am an amateur, finding my way into this artform, and gradually it is starting to make sense - learning slowly, at my own pace, and, in effect, learning from experience. Certainly there are others far more expert at photography, and better able to help you master the art.

OK, I didn't know that, but we can still learn from each other, but only if I can compare your results to the camera settings that led to those results.

IF I get the chance during a family reunion in PA next month, I'd like to visit NYC for a day (just under a 3-hr drive)...or when I go to Israel next June, might consider (if it doesn't break the bank) to fly out a day or two early and get a cheap motel and do some sightseeing...never been to NYC). Any cheap places in NJ???

Depens upon what you mean by cheap. I assume you are flying into Newark. If so I would avoid really el-cheapo places near Newark, asit is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Check out one of the discount hotel websites, you should be able to find a reasonable(about $100a night) at the airport, One of the Hampton Inn type places.

I had looked at Expedia (or one of those types of sights) and found a motel in Long Island City for like $50 a night, but my dad suggested NJ because that's where my brother stays when he visits the area. All the cheap motels near JFK (where I would likely leave from) were booked...A YEAR IN ADVANCE!!!

Great So much for my assuming you were flying to Newark. Long Island city is a great location and is undergoing a wonderful change. Many homes in the area that used to go for 80 to 100 grand now go for 2 or3 times that much. An easy trip to Manhattan over the 59th street Bridge, Aviod rush hour traffic or you will be on that bridge forever.

My in-laws used to live in Brooklyn. The trouble with driving into Manhattan is that if you do get there, you need to find parking ( I had to drive my mother-in-law and friends to the wedding of my sister-in-law in "the village" ); in most cases, you'd be better off taking some kind of train.

I did see that there were els/subways all around the area. Is there enough in NYC to see for 2 days or is one enough?
