They left one thing out and that is that these drones are exactly the same as RC model aircraft that are strictly regulated by the AMA and the FAA and are only allowed to be flown in restricted flying fields. Drones or any remote controlled aerial device is potentially dangerous especially in areas where there is a lot of people.
The fact that these devices are not regulated under the same AMA / FAA guidelines makes absolutely no sense what so ever to me !

They are regulated. Have you not heard of no-fly zones. The FAA has been working out details for more regulation but things are constantly changing.
