I found this website a little while ago and it forever laid to rest any qualms about this purchase.

It doesn't matter what brand of camera you own or are interested in, the point is that amazing images ARE possible without spending an exorbitant amount of money. All of the images on this site were taken with either a D7000 or a D7100 with amazingly afforable lenses. Enjoy.

The link doesn't work for me, but you are correct. I've seen amazing images taken with a D3000--and lately with an iphone.

Great images, since I own a D7000 and 7100 that is good for me, now if I could take that good of pictures.

I know, Earnest and I totally get it but there is hope for us geezers if we only take the time to do things properly. It renewed my faith that if I get off my backside and take time to compose the shot, then I can work on learning post processing.

It's what many here have been saying for years, most photographic issues come from behind the camera.

All it takes is a decent camera and a good imagination.
