I used to live near a garden supply/nusery/fish store run by a Japanese family, 3rd or 4th generation owners/operators. They had a fairly large collection of bonsai, taught classes etc.
When ever I went there I would spend most of my time just looking. Then buy my fish supplies or what ever and leave with my head full of "If". If only I didn't already have so many other hobbies, etc etc.
They had one over 5' tall, a little redwood trained to look like one of the "giants" in the national park.

Darn Jerry! Now you've got me wanting to know what the miniature redwood tree looked like. I've seen the originals at Sequoia National Park, and I'm quite impressed with them.
