I emailed Michael Frye and he has a limited supply of his books available. Apparently when his book goes out of print, this is what happens. Booksellers can charge what they feel they can get away with.
Thanks for checking Moose! I emailed the Amazon vendor and happily he agreed to cancel the sale. I've got to get to Michael Frye and try to get one now! ---AV

I'm glad you were able to cancel. Michael said he had about 20 copies left, so there is a chance you'll get one. Good luck. BTW, if you have an IPAD he has an App that is up-to-date. If I had the IPAD, that is what I would buy.

John, thank you so much for that information. I'll definitely make an effort to meet you and take the tram ride. Thanks again and glad to hear you are feeling much better.

Bob, I forgot to tell you about the Hill studio in Wawona. It sets right close to the main hotel. I've never had the chance to go inside it but heard it's great. I think it has both, photos AND paintings, but I may be wrong. Speaking of the Wawona hotel, it was used in the movie "36 Hours" with James Garner, and Eva Marie Saint. (???) I think it was shot around 1958. When you get to the valley floor, be sure to visit the Ansel Adams gallery. While there you can sign up for photography classes. One of the instructors is a friend of mine, her name is Christy Loberg. She's an awesome photographer. I'm not real sure but I think her classes may be free. If you're on Facebook, connect to the Yosemite link. It gives you monthly updates, and some even sooner. The park uses her photos for advertizing a lot. I think I would allow for 4 days minimum to see the park. Why rush through all that beauty? It looks like you're also planning on seeing Sequoia, and Kings canyon national parks. They are both beautiful. They are about 100 miles south of Yosemite and about a 3 hour drive. Once you get on highway 180 towards the parks, you'll soon come to a big cat sanctuary. There you'll find rescued cougars and other big cats. We haven't had a chance to walk around in there yet but it's on my bucket list. BTW, another great time to visit Yosemite is around the end of October. You'll get the changing colors then, and they are spectacular.

John, thanks again for the information. I may take the time to check out the Big Cats place. Also, your suggestion on the photo lessons. Since I'll be there 6 days, I'll try to squeeze that in as well. Stay well.

That's good to know.
I'm headed there in two weeks for a few days and I'm really looking forward to it. It's always a pleasure to go there despite the crowds --- but one can still find solitude even in the valley. Can't wait for Tioga Pass to open to get to the high country.
