Is anyone else having a problem with PS CC 15 crashing when using Nik products? I also use Topaz plug ins and have had a problem after editing an image the program just sits there and doesn’t return me back to PS.

When using Nik (hasn’t happened every time) it just completely closes program without any info about why it closed out. I have to restart PS and sometimes image is recovered (w/o Nik edits) and sometimes not.

Using Mac OSX

I noticed the same problem. The new PS and LR cause a screen freeze type of crash while using Topaz products. It does not freeze all the time, though. I have not found the key that causes the crash.

I am using Mac OS X, I use Lightroom 1015 CC & Photoshop 2015 CC, Topaz plugins - have seen no problems at all.

I make use of Lightroom several times each day for sure - Topaz plugins at least as often. Photoshop perhaps 2-3 times per week and Topaz plugins in Photoshop the same amount.

Have had zero crashes, the only thing I have noticed, and not just with the 2015 versions, but with 2014 as well, on returning sometimes I do not get a progress bar in Photoshop, but it completes and returns as normal.

I use the programs everyday, working and editing for several hours most days. This is a huge pain in the butt. I know of a couple others using PC’s that are having the problem. Guess I will head over to Adobe’s site to see what I can find out.

I have had a half dozen crashes since 2015 came in, starting with Day #1 (mac mini 2013, with plenty ram, latest OS, no previous crash ever). I use NIK, Topaz, On One and MacPhun plugins. All but one of the crashes were while using plugins, but no one seems more susceptible than the other. The other was while using LR only. I haven't figured it out either.

I haven’t updated to the latest Mac version but that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m going to try and contact Adobe today....If I can get through.
I almost want to uninstall 2015 and go back to using my CS6 until this problem is fixed.
But my problem is I can’t seem to figure out how to access CS6 via LR. It only gives me the choice of 2015 but I’m thinking if I uninstall 2015 and open up CS6 it should have it listed.
Very frustrating!!!

Try updating to the latest mac version would be my advice. Sometimes the latest software versions address issues that made prior versions behave badly. That's far easier and less frustrating than dealing with Adobe phone support.

Also check the Topaz site if you've got problems with Topaz, they are acknowledging their issues with CC and offering tech support to solve the problems related to their products.

Also, be sure you've tried turning OFF graphics processing in preferences. That reduced the frequency of my crashes.

I also isolated three products that were apparently conflicting with CC 2015 and contributing to my problem - Mac Keeper, Printshop and my Wacom tablet software. Some of the crash logs seemed to implicate them. I removed Mac Keeper for now, and updated the Wacom driver. Printshop doesn't auto load anything on startup so I just won't use it for a while. Will see what happens.

I did turn off the graphics processing but it didn’t work.
I ended up uninstalling CCPS 2015 and went back to my own copy of CS6 and am having no problems with crashing.

Another note....I’ve been dealing with Adobe in regards to a problem with my LR. Since I did the latest LR update about five weeks ago I am unable to drag an image/images from one folder to another. They’ve taken over my computer, created a new catalog, and numerous other things but to no avail. So I was trying to wait until that problem was fixed before I updated my Mac program. The Adobe rep said I was not alone and whatever they did to fix others problems didn’t seem to work on mine.
So here I sit with at least 20 date folders of images that I am unable to organize! Very very frustrating.
And now I’m paying $10 a month for no working programs.
Will try and get a credit but not holding my breath!

Thanks for the help.

Anyone else having problems???

Keep us posted as to what you find out.

I saw another message on a forum about not being able to move things between folders too, but there weren't any answers for the poster yet.

Do you belong to DPR? They have a mac forum, and that's one place I post when I have problems since it's all about photo software on macs. I've found a lot of answers to problems on there. Worth a try...

Do you know what forum the other message was posted? I will check out DPR.

Just got off the phone with Adobe regarding LR problem....”It’s being escalated to Level 3 Priority” and he will email me on Friday.... so we’ll see what happens now!

So frustrating....until six weeks ago I never, ever had any problems with LR and or PS. Makes me leery of ever wanting to do an upgrade...but that’s a bit unrealistic!

I had that problem. I increased my RAM from 16Gb to 32Gb and the problem seems to be solved.
