I have found that I enjoy trying to restore old photographs for my Facebook friends. I started with images posted on several of the war bird groups and I have recently begun doing some images for my 1960 high school classmates.

Here is one I recently did. Most of what I do is done in Lightroom. I do have the Perfect Photo Suite and Photoshop Elements but I am not as comfortable in either of them yet.

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are welcome. I may be old (72) but fortunately I still enjoy learning.

IMO - never too old to learn new tricks! Nice job. I am in the process of doing similar to old family photos.

I'm also old, but which was the original??? All I really see is a color change.

There are so many different ways to do these things. It keeps me out of trouble to some degree. ;-)

That was basically all the OP did. Restored the colour. It was also done rather well.

The one with the blue green tint is the original. I removed a lot of spots in the sky. This was not just a matter of selecting the eye dropper and telling it to reset the image color.

I wish it had been that easy. There are a number of different adjustment brushes used to fine tune the colors.

Very interesting photo you posted. The F-106 belongs to the 48th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Langley AFB, VA. I was assigned there from March 1983 to March 1985 not long after they got rid of the F-106's & got F-15 Eagles. Same tail flash slightly modified.

Thank you. There is always room for improvement but I was pleased with the outcome.

I have done a number of images for them so they made me what amounts to an honorary member.

Hard to say when you are having fun but I would guess about an hour. Maybe a little more.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of them. I'll have to check it out.
