Well, it certainly looks good, Jim.
Appears very sharp from my window.

PS: Now you know why I decided on a Refractor... ;-) Less to wonder about being right. (I can use all the help I can get. )

I went out to our recycling bin tonight, looked up at the bell clear skies, and muttered a few unrepeatable things under my breath.

PSS:
Filter? (As in what)

Well the real test will be with stars.
I offered to let you use mine so I don't want to hear it.

Grr... Still nothing but overcast here. Last night, while Jupiter and Venus were supposed to be dancing past each other, we were enjoying a massive thunderstorm. It may have done some good, as we have blue skies this morning, so we'll see.

Go to this site and check this stuff out.
Hands down the best solar imaging film you can buy.

Still have to setup and do a star test to confirm, but this looks promising.
When I started checking out the secondary mirror to see how it was mounted, the vanes were not centered, the secondary was not straight and it wasn't tight.
I snugged the center screw after aligning the mirror and it took me close to an hour to get things closely aligned.
SCT's are so much easier.. lol..

You're luck your camera would fall into the ocean..
I guess they had some nice Auroras after this stuff came through. Shame to not be able to go and play when you want.

Well, there are Pro's and Con's to everything.
Aurora's are the original light pollution. ;)

Has anybody here done a survey as to how long the weather is crappy after a new piece of equipment shows up?
Just wondering if I should take a vacation and for how long waiting for the clouds to blow away...

Where is Craig? They just announced on the news that the Worlds clocks need to be adjust by 1 second to keep up with the Earths rotation.
Called a "Leap Second".
Damn, man still hasn't got his watch right. :? :hunf:
So we have to adjust our mounts clocks again.
