Thanks for the link! I had not explored her or her work before. This really held my attention and peeked my interest. I find it quite sad her work was completely unnoticed in her lifetime.

Vivian Maier's story is so engaging. A reclusive (her room was off limits) intelligent "in the closet" artist. It makes me think that starting in a male dominated Europe and being a woman was part of the reason she hid so much. The she took pictures that I would call mostly street shots.
Mary Ellen Mark died a couple of week ago. She was able to do all kinds of work in the open. Poverty. "Tiny" her homeless little girl,a friend her entire life. Pictures of celebrities and a rounded out terrific career.
What if Vivian were set free to do her work with the freedom that a woman of her talents should have.
She is a great story, ant this is a good documentary.
