Very nice photo. I think you nailed it. Perhaps wait a few seconds more and see if the sun exits the clouds and try another but otherwise you got it. Looks great.

Nice capture. The tops of the trees are a little distracting. Try more foreground to give the image a base OR isolate the sun & clouds. Maybe a tall tree silhouette to the side, look around you see what there is to use. Don't take just one shot and don't be afraid to try verticle. At sunrise and sunset the scene changes rapidly, colors, clouds, intensity, etc., study it, you never know what you will find. Your exposure is good. Keep shooting.

I'd try using a tripod. It looks a bit soft.

The top third of the scene does nothing for it and should be cropped. The trees in the foreground are beneficial in giving depth. Good exposure.

shoot the sun all the way down, play around with the white balance, also with the ev use a tripod and maybe a flash off camera to give your fore ground a little pop.one really great shot out of 100 is not bad. you can also use gels on the flash and filters on the lens.

I agree. But I probably would have add just a small bit more of the foreground (trees) to it. That is a nice shot and that must have been a beautiful sunset!

Nice shot. The top of the trees are somewaht distracting. Maybe a little more of the trees in the photo would have helped or crop them totally out and see how it looks. It is still a beautiful shot.

Here is one behind my house in Oxford, CT. The colors were fantastic that day, and it was one of the first shots I made with my new Nikon D5100. The outline of the trees adds to the shot. It won a 2nd place in our local camera club competition.
