Much well deserved discussion of the amazing long-reach capabilities of the Nikon P900. Being interested in this camera as a back-up, I would be grateful for some commentary on these questions:
1. How close will it focus?
2. At all focal lengths?
3. Is the auto-focus reasonably fast?
4. How is the image quality at short and medium focal lengths?
5. How does the build quality compare to an entry-level Nikon SLR?
6. Any problems or things you wished you had known before acquireing?

1. How close will it focus?
A - I put the lens against the table and it focused well.

2. At all focal lengths?
A - Focus for me is great until I go into 'Digital Zoom' and then it's iffy.

3. Is the auto-focus reasonably fast?
A- Yes it's nice except as I said for the 'Digital Zoom'

4. How is the image quality at short and medium focal lengths?
A - Image quality is very good except for high digital zoom.

5. How does the build quality compare to an entry-level Nikon SLR?
A - Same or better because of the large 28 - 2000 focus

6. Any problems or things you wished you had known before acquireing?
Much well deserved discussion of the amazing long-... (show quote)

A - Nope. Never use RAW so no surprise there.

I like it and making notes for a 'Sarge69 Review' in the near future.

The Nikon P900 truly is a fabulous camera, it closely resembles a DSLR and is built very similarly , as far as I can find, it has no negitive, issues, except for the fact, its very hard to get, as its so much in demand.....
