I see a lot of post mostly about Hoggers using Nikon & Canon cameras.Would like to know about people that use other brands.I have always had Nikons.Would like to know about other brands and if there advantages. In a nut shell are there better dslr out there? Are we missing out by not trying other brands?
I use Nikon but also have an Olympus OM-D E-M5 that I really like, especially the size.
I've carried Sony since I switched to digital. Currently an Alpha 850 & HX400 bridge camera. Prior to the switch, I carried a Maxxum 7000i. The Sony/Konica Minolta collaboration made the choice for me since I already had some very good Minolta glass.
HI Shadetree thanks for reply.Nice bike i ride too. Kawasaki 2006 Vulcan Nomad.Stay safe.
Thanks nicksr1125.I just got Nikon p900 bridge camera.
Olympus user (EM1). I use it because it is a fine balance between overall IQ and size/weight.
My website can be found by clicking on my user name if you care to see examples from the camera.
Love my Fuji X-E1.
Retro design in a small package.
Fuji film simulation choices.
I shoot Nikon for work, except for studio portraits.
For that, I use Fuji's S5pro. Amazing skin tone!
I just shoot jpeg for those.

You can look at mirror less cameras (Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony). I shoot Olympus and Panasonic; they are much smaller than the DSLRs.
You can look at Pentax, they make an excellent DSLR.
Of course there are better DSLRs, look at Phase One for example. That will knock your socks off.
I have a Nikon D7100 that I really like and enjoy using. However, several months ago, after much reading and research, I bought a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera and a few lenses. The Sony has the same 24 mega pixel DX sensor, and most of the same photography features (if not more), as the Nikon in less than half the bulk...what a camera. All for about a third of the cost and only weighing 12 oz.!
It is now my my carry around camera usually with the Sony/Zeiss 16-70 f/4 lens. If I use the very good kit 16-50 lens it will fit in my jacket pocket. If you do any hiking or much touring, this combo is hard to beat.

I've made a total switch to the mirrorless Olympus OMD cameras (EM1 and EM5). I can put together a travel kit that weighs less than 5 lbs with 2 cameras, 5 lenses from 12-300 mm including a 2 deadly sharp primes and 3 good zooms. It does everything I need. I do love the EVF, because I can see the scene I am about to capture AS THE CAMERA SEES IT, and make any adjustments to settings before I press the shutter, then review the capture all in the viewfinder without moving it from my eye. Not the greatest choice for very high ISO's, but not many are except the top tier full frames. And they are small, so people who really like a great big heavy camera/lens combo are often not happy with the size.

:?: Afraid I don't see a connection between "Just saying" and your question.
Leitz,it got your attention,Just saying i would like to know what others are using be sides the two Nikon & Canon.
Previously carried Nikon, and Oly 4/3.
Now only carry M4/3 gear. Unless I pixel peep - or print larger than 13x19 - I see no real world disadvantage to the mirrorless system vs mirrored DSLRs.
It is the next leap forward in camera evolution- and it will continue to improve. But - for me - it is good enough right now, and without making excuses.
