Looking for photo ops around Wasilla AK

I am heading to Wasilla the end of this week for work and will have some time to explore with my camera. Any suggestions of nice photo spots would be greatly appreciated. It will be the longest days of the year so I guess I am going to have to get up really early or stay up really late.....

The former Governor has some great scenery to photograph, and she is easy on the eyes. :roll:

Will you have a vehicle? My suggestion would be to drive up the Parks Highway and once you hit Willow you will get some awesome views of McKinley. Another place would be to drive up Hatcher Pass to Independence Mine, great scenery all over up there. To tell the truth, every where you turn will be some beautiful scenery.

Drive up north on the Parks Highway to see Denali (weather permitting). Go further up to Broad Pass to see the igloo. If you have time, drive across the Denali Highway to the Richardson Hwy and then south to the Glenn Hwy back to the Parks.
Another side trip is go up to Willow and then up to Hatcher Pass. You will come south down to Palmer.

From what i've seen on the news there is a major fire around Willow and the parks highway so travel up in that direction may be limited if not brought under control by the time you arrive

You do realize that that was Tina Fey who said that, not Sarah Palin...So many people think Palin said that. Just goes to show that if a lie is repeated often enough, people start thinking it's true...
