I recently ran across Photoscape.
It's a digital photo editor that shows great promise.
It's free and easy to find. I've only been playing with it for little under an hour and I like it. It's fairly intuitive to use and has a lot of options.

For what it's worth, I've used Photoscape for a few months now and like it very much. I must admit that it doesn't have the versatility of, say, Photoshop, but neither does it have the price.
Best of luck with it and your photography.

Bravo! I have recommended PhotoScape many times as an excellent and free introduction to post processing for those not yet ready for the PhotoShop experience. I use PhotoScape regularly and am seldom disappointed. Don't overlook some of the extra sub-programs and features it offers.

Here is something I just clipped out of our local paper: I HAVE NOT YET TRIED IT, BUT SINCE TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE...
"Adobe launces Beta photoshop" ( headline)
"Adobe has released a new version of Photoshop, and this time its free...at least for a little while.PhotoshopCS6 is available as a free download at labs.adobe.com and is billed as a preview of what's to come in the full version, which is expected to be released in the first half of 2012....$699. "

Please excuse me, while I give it a shot. ALYN

It is a decent program for many PP users. Can't be the price either.
