Possibly. I love my camera but I am trying to take photos of jewelry I make and I cannot figure out why I can't get a good closeup. Apparently I don't have a macro setting? I tried on a tripod using auto settings. Do you know this camera well enough to say whether it's me or the camera? Other photos turn out great, never have a problem.

Yes, there is a 3 position switch on the left side of the barrel. The middle postion allows closer focusing.

Graham Houghton has tutorials on youtube showing detailed instructions on this wonderful camera. Don

I have an FZ-200, and don't want to sell it. But I did see that KEH is advertising them in their Father's Day email that I received this morning.

yep middle setting on lens focus switch will get you very close focus. I am going to keep mine as it has turned into my favorite camera.
Please listen to the videos on Utube...Graham Houghton is really an informative person when it comes to this camera and his videos are geared into having the correct settings to get great photos from the FZ200. He is very unselfish in shareing the knowledge that he has

There is a switch on the lens barrel that will change focus preference to closeup. If you want to do real close-up shots, then you should look for a DMW-LA7 extension tube and a DMW-LC55 close up lens (like a close-up filter, except it has 2 elements). Really good close-up with focus distance of 1-2 feet.

I also use a Canon Tripod Mount Ring D that fits around the extension tube; mounts camera on a tripod but allows access to the camera battery/memory card door.
