When I use the Email Photos function in LR how can I set it up to use my Gmail contacts to autofill email addresses?
And, is there a way to have the photos show in the email itself instead of sharing them as attachments?
thanks for any help...

To my knowledge, there is no way to do what you want.
What I end up doing is exporting the photo I want to email to a file folder on my desktop I set up for such temporary use. I open gmail and then drag and drop the photo into the text box so it appears as part of the body of the email. It is a few extra steps. If anyone knows of an easier work around, I'd like to know also.
BTW, Lightroom allows you to add addresses to its own address list. That is a lot of extra work unless there are just a few addresses you regularly use.

It depends upon which email SW you are using. I mostly use Windows Live Mail at home and I can drag a picture onto the screen and it stays on the screen. Or I can tell it to attach a picture as a file attachment. It's my call what I want to do.
I use Outlook 365 at work, and I am able to do the same.
Nice one birdpix, in ref to drag and drop on gmail account. I never knew. Is there a quick way to downsize the jpeg file?
Cheers
Can't do it in email at all when your photo files are 14MB and larger. Have to "shrink" them first.
Roger,I suspected as much. What "shrink" program is simple to use? (sorry crbuckjr to jump over you, its kinda related to your subject).
When i use the email function in Lightroom I don't fill in the addresses of where I want them to go ,I just click send. When it's finished rendering, I then fill in addresses with my address book.

For lack of a better method, I just use Photoshop and resize the images.
The program ask what size do you want to send. There are various options original, large small etc.this is a free program to help you with lightroom. Just scroll down doesn't matter that it's 4.

Thanks sueyeisert for that.
Share them in Dropbox. It's free storage and you can load/share the larger files that the email server may limit.
Acknowledge your last,boncrayon.

It doesn't matter what size the file when you drag it to the email message and it shows up as part of the email message. It will be scaled down in size anyway.
What he is asking for is the ability to drag the image into the email itself so that when the recipient sees the email, the image is part of the main email view screen. There is no email attachment hanging on the side.
I often will do this with many images with the same email message.

Actually, GMAIL can be setup to work within Windows Live Mail and with this setup, you use the Windows Live Mail environment to compose the email. And from there, you can copy pictures into the body of the message.
Windows Live Mail is not an email service itself. You have to identify the email accounts you have and it provides a convenient email environment for creating, viewing and saving emails.
