I would have no use for it, as I never use disposable batteries.
Rechargeable's already take care of the problem
Great article!
I'd love to see this work as touted!
:-)
I wish rechargeable batteries were 1.5 volt :-/
Some of my equipment won't accept them because of the low voltage, I'd be able to use rechargeables in everything! :-)

My Harmony remote sits on a dock, I haven't touched the batteries forÂ…oh I don't know, probably going on ten years.

I use rechargeables in about everything, as well as 1.5 volt AA rechargeables.
I've never seen a 1.5v rechargeable :-/
All the ones I've ever seen are rated at 1.2v, including the ever popular eneloop.

The voltage boost sounds remotely feasible but by the time voltage falls to 1.3 I seriously doubt there is enough energy left in the battery for these devices to allow another 50% out of the battery before it is dead.
I'm interested enough to look at manufacturer's published discharge curves for alkaline batteries.
To think, they used to sell snake oil in bottles! Ah, this modern world!
Copper Top batteries at 100 Ma discharge rate reach 1.3 volts after supplying about 0.6 amp hours. At 1 volt they have supplied 2.1 amp hours. Of course boosting 1 volt to 1.5, assuming 100% efficiency of the voltage boost, the battery would supply 150 Ma at 1 volt for an output of 1.5 volts at 100 Ma.
Perhaps not snake oil, but at least this Alkaline battery looks like an extension of 2.5 or 3 times, not 8 times.
