A must-see is the airplane museum - excellent. You could spend a day there.

Jerry is correct! A GREAT place to visit and photograph. There is also an interesting indoor retail arcade in the downtown area. Don't recall the name, but any hotel concierge can direct you.
Lived there all my life. Shoot the Stewart St. bridge toward the city--amazing shot. Arches of bridge in lower half and the skyline in the upper.
Go at the Golden hour. Nearby, you can see it from the bridge the Carrillon--the huge bell tower at the park on Patterson Blvd.
Close by Hawthorne Hill, The huge estate of the Wright Bros. in Oakwood.
Air Force museum will keep you there all day--most outstanding in the US !!! Get a shot of the World headquarters of NCR---now owned by the University of Dayton. I wish I were there to drive you around !!!!!!

You've been directed to the Air Force Museum @ WPAFB. OH. While the main museum will consume an entire day (or more) be sure to get directions to The Annex, the hangar complex where all the former presidential aircraft are kept. A/C 26000 is there and open for public touring (presidential a/c for Kennedy to Reagan). The memorial to the Wright Brothers is within a short drive from the museum, directions are available at the museum. One huge photo-op! Have fun.
I'd add the Dayton Art Institute building, grounds and collection.
Look up Paul Lawrence Dunbar museum, greatest black poet ever in America, its on the West side. Carrillon-while taking pictures of the bell tower go into the park, Newcom Tavern is there, Dayton's first building. They have a grist mill there, water driving the mill with the water wheel, and in the park all the history of the Underground railroad, and how the slaves were moved through Dayton and Troy, Ohio for their safety. I wish I could drive you around even though I live in Florida now.
Be sure to post the best photos you get here so we all can enjoy them. That is the fun of this !!!!!!! Denny
