Vivitar Filters Quality?

I have been looking at variable neutral density filters. Vivitar has some 72mm at what I consider reasonable prices. Do any of UHH peeps have any experience with Vivatar filters? I know that you can pay $400 bucks or more for some of the top end filters but right now I can't justify that to myself. Just want to know if the Vivatar is being used and if you are happy with it.

I have 72 and 78mm vivitars on my nikkor lenses. They are just fine. They aren't VND filters though. They are just UVs.

Vivitar has been around a long time. Longevity is "usually" not an attribute of junk manufacturers.

Thats were I saw them for $45. I know Vivitar has been around a long time I have used several flash units from them. But never any glass. I will give it a try and place my order.

Vivitar is a marketing firm. They have never made any of their products. In the past, they designed most of their products, and bid them out for construction.
