Went to the DEsert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, bright and early this morning for probably the last visit until fall... Most of the blooming is history although there are still plenty of wild flowers in bloom but seemingly no more of the beautiful cactus flowers that unfortunately only last a day or so. Here are some exposures to enjoy!

very nice - I have the sony A99 also & I absolutely love it!!

Hey Brain, do you do any flash or other lighting? If so what are you using? The sony flashes are very expensive and I can't seem to find a compatible lighting solution.. I do have the new 60 flash but wanted to add additional and off camera lighting capability..

I use yungnuo - they are very good, reliable and relatively inexpensive. none of them are TTL though so I bought one that is and as soon as I remember the brand I'll let you know!! When I set them up for a shoot I use the yungnuos as slaves.

No! These were all shot at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, AZ

I'd love to get an a99, but right now I'm trying to save for a big vacation...I bet my cousin Nancy has been to the Desert Botanical Garden. She's the editor of Phoenix Home and Garden magazine. I haven't been to Arizona in decades. I need to go back eventually.

I do both but if I put it on the hot shoe I turn down the intensity of the flash on the hot shoe.

I'm a Sony digital guy myself, and have my A330 ready to be packed up to send to B&H to get credit towards a good tripod (I currently don't have one). After paying for my trip to Israel I'm going to save for an a99 or one of the FF e-mounts and a converter (so I wouldn't have to buy new lenses). I'd also like to get at least one G lens, but those puppies get pricey! I also have a film Canon, but for my trip I'm buying a used Panasonic LUMIX FZ200 from another UHH member because I don't want to be carrying so much with me...I got a back and neck ache after 6 hrs at the zoo w/my a77, flash and 3 lenses.
