I wish I could strum a 6 string. I remember the first time I saw a double neck guitar. I think it was Jimmy Page with Led Zeppelin. I know. I'm showing my age.

I have never seen anything like it. The closest I have seen is the Harp guitar and I don't particularly like the sound of that instrument. Maybe it was the guy playing it. :-D

The dobro is an interesting instrument. I had a friend who played one in a bluegrass band. I was at a bluegrass festival called Horse Pens 40 years ago camping out and he joined in an impromptu session with some other musicians around a campfire late one night. It lasted all night. What a night and a painful morning.

Yeah, it is what is called a resonator guitar and has the same number of strings as a regular guitar (6). It has been a staple in a lot of bluegrass and country western bands. The last time I attended a Bluegrass Festival was outside Raleigh, N. Carolina back in the late 1970's. I don't mind it but I am more jazz/blues/country oriented with a little rock 'n roll thrown in. :-D

Very similar to instruments designed and played by the Corries in the 1970's.

I thought that the Corries were a folk group that played guitars. Do you have any pictures or links of their instruments?

Technically isn't a guitar a fretted instrument? I only see 6 fretted strings on this- the rest are tuned open like a zither. So it can't really be called a 27 string guitar, can it?

You got me. I don't know enough about guitars to make that call. :-D
