A Carpet Rose in our garden...I was sitting out there yesterday, enjoying the sun, and this girl came flying out from one of the flowers...she was completely hidden deep inside...

Maybe there was no pollen in there.... They seem to tolerate me OK, in the few weeks I've been "shooting" bees, they are quite content to fly and work around me...they are a pretty friendly bunch...

As long as you don't accidentally squeeze on like if one lands between your fingers. I was unintentionally covered by probably close to a hundred one day on a photo shoot for a local paper. A beekeeper had been hired to remove them from a wooden post downtown. He just told me to stay calm and not act aggressive. He was using a smoker to get them out and take them to his hives. I got stung one time between my fingers. No big deal. He finally got all of them off of me. Pretty weird experience to be covered by bees with no protective gear. The buzzing was intense.
