How would you like to travel by train at near the speed of sound? Elon Musk is having a test track built to test just such a train.

James Powell, told Tanya Lewis over at LiveScience. "The guideway [track] has to be built to very fine tolerances, because if the position of the wall deviates from straightness by a few thousandths of an inch, you could crash."

.....but the passenger would never know what happened and no piece of him would ever be found...... :XD:

I would be happy with a decent moderately-high-speed rail system...

If you have ever witnessed a High Speed train blowing through a small town at 300+ MPH while having your morning coffee while sitting at a cafe terrace a few hundred yards from the tacks and didn't spill it all over yourself then you are for sure one who has grown up around these things!
Just think of that wreck that just happened at just over 100MPH a week ago !
.....way too much mass at high speed leads one to think !
