This is not Adorama's fault but "UPS Mail Innovations Expedited" shipping is a joke. I am about an hour and a half away from Omaha, Nebraska. The package left Bridgeport, New Jersey. It travels to Kansas City, Missouri. The next stop is Omaha, Nebraska. From there it goes off to Denver, Colorado. Now it has to come back to Omaha, Nebaska to arrive at its final destination. Am I missing something?

There you go..................trying to incorporate commonsense into corporate procedure.

I've been in purchasing since the '80s. I gave up trying to figure out how both UPS and FedEx work as far as getting stuff from place to place quickly. I've seen some even more weird than that, like something shipped from the same town, going half way across the country, and back. Somehow, it works. Could it be faster, maybe, but probably at the expense of slowing other things down. In the world of automation, somehow, somewhere, this makes perfect sense. Us mere mortals will probably find out why, about the time we learn the meaning of life.
The govt's efficient procedures....LOL

This just crossed my mind........was it free shipping?
I always cringe when I see a pkg is going to be handed off to the post office from UPS or FedEX. It can be five miles away and take at least two additional days to get here. Frustrating.
One package amoung millions does not get shipped in a straight line of travel from its origin to your residence. There are obviously diverting, connecting points and hubs that are necessary because of the volume of deliveries. That is what you are missing.

Read closely - just because the
information was received by USPS in Omaha does not mean that the
package went there. It looks like it went from KC to Denver on its way to Omaha. That's the way that the USPS routed it, for whatever reason.
It's easy..Look at the last two activities posted you'll see scans for the post office. The US Postal Service will be delivering your packg, not UPS. It's a cheaper service that both UPS and FEDEX offer to the shipper and in your case the shipper elected to use. FEDEX and UPS carry the package up to point then hands it over to the postal service for final delivery. It's cheaper if it was handled by FEDEX or UPS from pickup to delivery but faster if it handled just by the postal service.
Hope that helps.
I received a reply to an email I sent to my friend in the Omaha Post Office. The package was turned over to the USPS in Denver. I wonder why it didn't go to the UPS hub in Lexena, Kansas and from there go into the USPS system.
I live pretty close to the middle of nowhere, and my UPS driver drives right past my house with a package that he has to deliver to a post office 15 miles away. They deliver it the next day, unless I go ask for it myself....So, that's always fun!
Typical UPS Service - lost in space!

Sorry CMC, it works exactly the opposite way in my remote region. Straight UPS/FedEx takes
FOREVER while packages handed of to the fine folks at USPS get there ahead of schedule.
