I am putting my Nikon D810 up for sale. It was purchased last August, has had the Nikon update done to it. It is spotless inside, the sensor is cleaned no less than once a month. It had a Vello glass LCD protector on it as well as a Kirk 90 degree Arca Swiss bracket on it. Charger, battery, I might even have the cheap Nikon strap. It is in excellent shape, no scares, the shutter count is 8792. I will be posting this in a couple of different places, It will be listed for $2700.00 (includes PayPal fees and shipping)
Contact me for any additional information. Photos upon request.

If I may ask, why are you selling it?
What is the shutter count?
I am moving to Sony Mirrorless. The shutter count is listed in the post. 8792
This question is not about the sale. You mentioned that the sensor is cleaned monthly. You do this yourself, and if so, can you please help a photography student by explaining how it's done? Thanks so much...

I can't imagine why anyone would have to clean a sensor monthly with less than 9000 shots unless you were photographing dust storms exclusively!

Good point. Seems a bit excessive to me.
Both of you are probably right, as that doesn't seem to be the norm, but I am just wondering HOW it's done, (if the photographer is doing it himself.)

He was probably confused when the post said "8792 accusations". He might have thought people were saying the camera has done something illegal or wrong.

I would say it's not so much about shutter counts as how often you change lenses and expose the sensor. If you're continually going between different lenses, you're providing the potential for more material getting to the sensor; maybe.
I take extremely good care of my equipment. Every time I come back from a shoot, I clean all my equipment. The monthly sensor cleaning is a habit I got into to assure I am not having any issue. My eyesight is not the best, so sometimes I could miss some dust here and there. Yes I do clean the sensor myself. There are a lot of video's on youtube. I use products from the following.

Thanks... Great information. You mention the cleaning of your equipment each time you use it. Can you please give a quick comment on what all you do?
And is there a tutorial that I can view to see HOW the sensor is cleaned? (I'm not even sure WHAT and WHERE the sensor is located, only an IDEA of it, and the location!)
Thanks again.

I open up access to the sensor, grab my bright light and just check for dust. I shoot motorsports, so it can get dusty. If all I do is blow out the sensor, I know it is clean. I wipe down all exterior surfaces. I do the same with any lens I use. I clean out my back pack and straighten it up.
Go to the link for Copper hill, they have great tutorials.

Thanks Gary;
One last question. Do you use a wet or damp cloth to wipe camera and lens down, and IF it's a damp cloth, any cleaner on it?
