lightcatcher, you are very observant........yes, in the B&W I did touch up the fence. You like the pealing paint huh? Oh well.......take the color one and convert it to B&W.

I like them both. But, if I had to pick just one, I would go with the color photo. Both photos are great. Not too contrasty. I do think that the color photo shows just a bit more detail. Have a GREAT DAY!

Thank you very much pixbyjnjphotos for giving your opinion. I think the "color" version is going to win this competition because of the "more detail" comments on almost all of them!

Suz, Yes.....I know that you know this lighthouse since you used to live in San Diego.......Color it is........overwhelmingly the answer of choice. Thanks for your thoughts on this one.

Except for the sky the scene is almost monochromatic anyway. Tough call but I'll go with the color shot.

When I saw the first photo (bw) I said wow. This photo has a couple of things going for it. All the straight lines, then topped with curved lines (lighthouse itself). Then, in color, it has three things that work for me. Add.. texture, not so noticeable in the bw...at first. It's there, but not as pronounced. Color for me also. djt

I prefer this one in B & W. It looks like some of the paint on the fence has been touched up but otherwise I find the detail to be fine. Like it a bunch.
