Has anyone had issues with Lightroom 5 and windows 8? I have wanted to up date to lr5 but am not sure if I should wait for Windows 10. Any advise would be appreciated

I had issues with Windoze 8, period. Converted to Mac. I still use Win7. But when they cease supporting that OS, I'll scrap those systems.

I suspect thousands, maybe millions, do that with success. BTW, Lightroom 5 is now "old". Upgrading to the new "6", or Lightroom CC, might make more sense.

If you're currently running Win 7, I'd wait for Win 10 and skip 8 altogether. I'm running Win 10 Insider Preview and LR 5, CC, and PSCC all run fine on it.

Running LR 4 with Win 8.1 no problems with either. Lucky me huh!

LR5 working for me with Win8, but I have only been using it several weeks on that computer.

Lightroom 5 should run just fine on Windows 8. The bigger question is how much RAM is in your computer, what type of CPU drives it and how good is your graphics (video) adapter? These factors will have much more impact on the software functionality than the Windows 8 OS.

I used Lightroom 5 on my Windows 8 machine with 12 gigs of ram and had zero problems for the last two years. Just updated to Lightroom 6.

Had Lightroom 5 with both Windows 7 and 8 with no problems. Now using Lightroom CC with 8. No issues, other than it seems to run a little slower.

I have it on my laptop with Win 8 and I've had no problems whatsoever.
