From my deck and I don't think its empty. The tankers go up to pick up shale oil just south of Albany NY Never to deliver

It was more rhetorical, hence the lack of a question mark... What I mean is the ship seems to be riding fairly high in the water. If that's what it looks like loaded I wonder how much higher it rides empty. Typically the bulbous bow is below the waterline. Though I'm not an expert on the subject.
From my deck I see a drainage ditch... Not much ship traffic, just an occasional mallard duck. :)

I found that ship on line and it's listed as "general cargo". One of the pictures of it has wind turbine blades two deep on the deck.
It said the ship was built in 2012 so it's not very old. According to the Marine Traffic web site it is currently at anchored about 5 or 6 kilometers south of the Statue of Liberty. Fun web site to look at. :)

We don't get ship traffic like you get in my neck of the woods. Mostly barges. I enjoy seeing what you are seeing. Keep posting!

Ive been using Marine Traffic for years thats how I keep track of whats coming up or down river. There is a phone app that works very well
