About 2 days ago LR CC stopped opening. I don't know of anything I did to change anything. One occasion it was working and then it wasn't and still isn't. I have turned off the computer to reset ( twice) but still won't open. I have a MAC Pro laptop. When I try to open LR the little color "thinking" icon just goes round and round. PS, Bridge and Camera Raw CC are all ok. Does anyone have a quick fix idea? I am functionally computer literate only so any complicated fixes will go right over my head.

I have a hunch that your computer is attempting to sync up with Apple's ICloud which is an on-line storage service and it can get messed up during Apples operating system up date process. There have been several updates recently which may be the reason you're getting the memory/ disk usage icon.
You may be able to find the answer to what's going on and how to fix it by Googling: apple OS X ICloud synchronization problems.
Hope this helps and that you get it corrected soon.

It won't hurt to uninstall and reinstall LR CC again. I had this issue too; the catalog is safe assuming your disk is:-)

Thanks- that's probably quicker than messing around all day with it :) But if I do, will I still have access to PS, Bridge and Camera Raw even if LR is disabled? (sorry if that is a stupid question)

I tried that but didn't change anything but thanks for the suggestions.
YAHOO!! I'm back up and running- I went to the Adobe sign on page and logged in. There was an update waiting to be installed- I installed it and LR started working again. Thanks for your help.

Glad you got back up and running again --- nothing more frustrating than a glitch with a computer.

Don't go here. Adobe LR CC has a known problem necessitating a log off of the Adobe Cloud, followed by a log in. Let us know if this fixes your problem.
By the by, did you originator mean 'computer literate' or 'computer illiterate' in the post?

Based on reading other forums and blogs, I think that WAS an issue the week LR6 was released and too many of the 3.5 million CC users were downloading from overworked servers. It was fixed in a few days.

One great thing about Adobe CC is you run into a problem you can't seem to figure out on your own, if you go to the help section on CC you can use the chat feature and get a Adobe tech to help you. Early on when I downloaded a CC update for some reason it went sideways. I was able to start a chat session with an Adobe Tech who was able to help me clear up quickly, of course based on the chat I realized that Sam might not be his correct name, I am almost sure his last name was Patel,
